Hospital Programs and Events
Through our valued partnerships with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willet Children’s Hospital of Savannah, Camp Sunshine creates unique inpatient and outpatient experiences that bring the fun, magic, and support of camp to children receiving oncology treatment
Weekly hands-on activities include arts and crafts, slime making, and Shrinky Dinks, bringing joy to their hospital experience. Seasonal events add extra magic, from festive fall playroom celebrations to snow globe making and gingerbread house decorating in December. These activities, offered either in the patient’s room or in the playroom with other children, often motivate kids to get out of bed and have fun even when they are feeling unwell, creating moments where children in the hospital can simply be kids again.
Sunshine 2U
Sunshine 2U, our hospital summer camp, brings the magic of camp to children and families in the hospital setting at both Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital in Atlanta and Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital in Savannah. Patients are invited to enjoy a full week of summer camp activities modified for the hospital setting, from slime parties to pretend s’mores. Our hospital campers receive camp t-shirts, backpacks and a water bottle just like at summer camp! Each day has a special theme and even patients on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit or on precautions receive special camp kits, so they can participate, too!

”My daughter received treatment every other Monday at Aflac. Not only are the activities that are provided a welcomed distraction for her during infusion but Camp Sunshine is an absolute blessing. Camp Sunshine spends time chatting, asking about how school is going, finding out about her interests, and encouraging her in ways that go far beyond helping her feel better about being at the hospital. Joy and kindness are two things that everyone needs more of, no matter their life circumstance, and Camp Sunshine gives so much of both every single time we see them at the clinic!
