Activities are held in the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Centers at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (both Egleston and Scottish Rite campuses), weekly in the playroom at each hospital and clinic, and during the two weeks around Summer Camp. Sunshine 2U is also offered on a monthly basis at the Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah.
We want all kids to be able to attend camp – and now they can!
Sunshine 2U brings the magic of camp to children and families in a hospital setting. All oncology patients and their siblings are invited to enjoy camp activities that are modified for the hospital, including everything from art & crafts to scavenger hunts. They receive a t-shirt, hat, and water bottle just like at summer camp! Patients in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit even receive special kits each day that are individually wrapped and sealed in bags for infection control purposes. Kits can include jewelry projects, art supplies or games.
