“Cancer is such a difficult part of every diagnosed person’s life and Camp Sunshine truly is a ray of hope for the people affected by it.” – Margaret Kelleher, Camp Sunshine Scholarship recipient

Since 1992, Camp Sunshine has been awarding scholarships to alumni attending a college, university, or technical school. This year, 35 very deserving students received a Camp Sunshine scholarship, raising our total number of scholarships awarded to 346 over the past 30 years. They come from hometowns throughout Georgia – and beyond. They will be attending 25 different colleges, universities, and technical schools. They will study nursing, medicine, child-life, psychology, biology, English, athletic training, global environmental sustainability, and more. Common among all these students is their desire – their drive – to give back to others.

Somewhere they found the strength and resilience to not only survive childhood cancer but to thrive. The determination to use their personal experience and their difficult journey to give back to others is remarkable.

As we celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, their inspiring stories highlight the power of connections and community that can heal and bring hope. They are our family, and we are proud to support them on their continued journey forward. For us, they are a ray of hope!
