17th Annual Keencheefoonee Road Race
The Keencheefoonee Road Race is Camp Sunshine’s largest annual fundraiser and is driven by our volunteers! Begun by volunteers who were missing out on the Peachtree Road Race because they were at camp, the Keencheefoonee Road Race has grown into a robust event.
Over the past 16 years, the road race has raised more than $2.6 million to send kids with cancer to summer camp. Our goal this year is to raise $317,000 in honor of 2017 being our 35th year of camp, plus it will bring our total raised to over $3MILLION!
The 5k run and 2k walk are held each Tuesday at summer camp, before breakfast; volunteer counselors run or walk down Keencheefoonee Road for a brisk start to their day! Prizes are awarded that morning for top fundraisers and race winners.
Anyone can participate in the fundraising, but unfortunately, because of safety and security concerns, the only participants who may run in the race are summer camp volunteers.
